I would certainly try it. For a number of years, I have been making medium strength Caramel Truffle coffee in the Mr. Coffee. We also like a straight medium Kona. I usually alternate. At one point I mixed them, 50-50, and the result was an excellent hybrid.
So now I alternate the 3 of them.
@perrone1, I really enjoy a great Kona but the beans are quite expensive. Beans from Maui are just as good and a little less expensive. Recently, I've been buying beans from a Haitian grower that are as good, IMO, as Kona and about half the price. We use a Mr. Coffee as well. I've looked at some of the more expensive coffee makers. The MrC works just fine. I'd rather spend the money on better beans.

It probably tastes great but is so strong I fear it would make my stomach wamble.

After going through two expensive coffee makers, I went back to the lesser-cost Mr. Coffee. As you say, it works just fine. We bought and sent back a ton of Kona coffee beans from Kona and I ground them and used them sparingly until we ran out. I currently buy Kroger's 'Private Selection Kona Coffee, both in beans and already ground when they do not have the beans. It's pretty good!

HA! I know where you got THAT word!!
Hate coffee! Never drank any coffee in my life. I dislike the smell of coffee! Coffee is not alone, i have never drank tea or beer either. Just don't like the taste. I am a diabetic probably because until '78 I drank 12 to 14 12 oz. cans of Pepsi Cola every day and for another bad habits i smoked 8 cigars a day for 30+ years, until I retired.
Everyone has a different story to tell. I love hearing them all.
Like @brush, I never drank or liked the taste of coffee. Now I'm drinking 2 cups a day on my doctor's advice for medical reasons. Go figure. I'm getting used to it.

Don't be so sure Jack. I've had my coffee shaken and not stirred. (It's awful!)
