This is a very interesting article.  The Mercury seems to have a body shape that would wear this fastback design better than the Ford; too bad they didn't show a rear perspective on it.  I must say I am surprised that Ford didn't opt for it other than Lincoln for just one year as the look was sure popular with GM products for a few years.

Thanks, John.   I remember the Lincoln, but I've never heard of the Ford project.  I once had a fastback '51 Chevy and liked the looks.  Wish I could find one in 1/43 scale.   David H
