Very cute.
Our long time pet cat, Bentley is on his way out. Another pet to grieve over soon, I'm afraid. I dread it, he's the sweetest cat ever.
@whodeytink My sincere condolences Mark, My wife and I have had that experience many, many times, and it’s always heartbreaking. Just know you gave them a good life and did your best. Critters don’t have long lives but they sure pack a lot of love in what time they have!
@kevins Thank you. Yes, we've been through it too much times also. It really hurts but you're absolutely right that we give them the best life possible and we don't let them suffer when the time is up.
I’m overwhelmed reading this. My condolences on your losses. You’ve been so blessed, IMO, to experience all the love you gave and received.
If I came home to a greeting like that I’d be so overjoyed that I’d get down on the floor and play for hours with them. 💕
I swear I’m not making this up. I was visiting family ln NY last week. My sis brought a friend and Teddy with her. Teddy sat by me tempting me to snag his toy and when I finally did and threw it down the hall he retreived it and went one at a time to Paula, my sis and Andy and had each do the same. After his rounds of catch with us he very proudly sat on the floor next to me with a look on his face that said…”I’ll bet you didn’t know how smart I am”. We ALL were stunned. 🙌💕🙌💕
Having my own health issue, my older brother called me. I reminded brother in my Will, he is responsible to mix my ashes with all my pet ashes, deposit all on water. My brother has the same sense of humor as me. He suggested he will mix my ashes, with pet ashes, put all in a house plant, and water the house plant. I reminded him he kills houseplants. He thought it would be cool to tell people, looking at one house plant, there is my brother and all his dead pets.
We can joke. Seriously, my ashes will be mixed with the ashes of my babies: Patchet, Nifter, Bear, Memalia, Dicky, Ramses, Tommy, D00-Funny, Mehitabel, Rosebud, and Mitch. So many precious pets I shared my life with. I have all their ashes, I loved them all, and we will be scattered together.
I hate to mention this again. My Rob died on 9/11. It took years to identify his bits and parts, perhaps a handful of parts. Rob & I had been a couple for 20 years but as a couple I had no legal rights. He wanted his ashes scatted over water. His parents put his remains in an urn, they died, I later learned the urn was sold for $5.00 at an estate sale. Rob was a Mensa (very intelligent), an actor, a published writer. His remains disappeared at a garage sale. Rob never had his remains scattered as he wished, I can only hope my remains will be scattered with my pets.
