I have been looking to expand my very small (tiny, in fact) group of vintage Horch models, in 1/43, 1/24, and/or 1/18 scale, so I thought I would post a general note and see if anyone has a lead on two of the most sensational Horch automobiles ever created (in my opinion) - the 1937 853 Sport Cabriolet bodied by Voll Ruhrbeck and the 1938 853A Sport Cabriolet bodied by Erdmann & Rossi. If anyone has information on a company who did/does make models of either car please let me know.
I could have sworn someone had at least made the Erdmann & Rossi, but I haven't found it yet. This one's close - 1938 Super Convertible 1/43 by Tin Wizard, eBay item 389771192970:
And don't miss this one (unfortunately I did)! Horch 853 AS12 Lepil Fire Engine 1938 1/43 by Autocult, eBay item 168287421756:
@paul-rouffa That is the Erdmann & Rossi 853A and there is one in the EU for 48€, but the quality isn't there. I have to wonder why they didn't list it with the proper information, though. I found several by Ilario on ebay.de, but the prices are beyond my means, at 300-400 euros per. There are some at a lower quality, but I would like to get a decent one. Sometimes, one has to be patient. The Voll-Ruhrbeck has been illusive, in any quality, so far.
EMC offered this a while back. However, it may not fit within your pricing parameters. They typically sell, when they are rarely offered, for well over $1000.

@jkuvakas And one can understand why they would cost so much. This is a beautiful model and thank you for posting the pics. I won't be on a limited budget forever and this can go on the 'big' wish list. What scale is this one?
@gdh, it's an EMC from Ukraine. All their models are 1/43.

@jkuvakas Thank you. EMC is a new company for me.
Prices above $1000 are what the American market pays for them and those are crazy prices.
Prices in Europe are most of the time a lot more down to earth.
I am still looking for the top down version of the EMC Horch and paid for the closed version a lot less.
Fortunately for me, I live in The Netherlands.
@joop I have bought cars from sellers in The Netherlands and prices there have been good. Do you find most of yours on eBay.de?
I found mine on eBay, yes and the price was alright.
But I also have the biggest swap-meeting in the world coming up in a few weeks in Houten in The Netherlands (6 times per year).
EMC-models are also quite rare there, but one has to take the time and ask German sellers for them.
There are a couple of German sellers, who appreciate the more expensive model-collectors and are willing to ask around if one is serious enough about getting them.
@joop Yes, I imagine it is much like selling rare engravings. If you go through the work to find them, the customer should be ready to buy when you find what they want. I'm nowhere near Houten, unfortunately.
Odd... the prices I see for EMCs listed on eBay.de are even higher than over here. Do you have some inside scoop, Joop? The price at issue was about $300 over here. I can't remember the last time an EMC Horch was sold on eBay. When did you buy your closed version?
@GDH, EMCs are high-end resin models made in small quantities. I've reviewed several on my eBay channel.

I bought mine October 22 nd last year at eBay.de and I know what their prices were when they were new way back then.
I purchased them from Mikhail Bashmashnikov and sold them at the Houten swap-meeting to Peter Stoyle from the UK.
Back then they just didn't fit in my collection and I had other models I wanted.
Should have kept two matching-number ones.
And here in Europe there's a strong consensus among long time serious collectors that the American market ruins normal down-to-earth prices.
