Right! LoL! 😀   I heard the same-type story years ago. 

Wife always cut & discarded the ends off the roast before cooking it. Husband asks, "Why are you doing that? You're wasting so much...why?" 

She replied, "That's what my mother did."  Husband then asks his mother-in-law, "Why waste the ends, why cut them off?"  She replied, "Mom always did it that way." Now....they all ask grandma, "Why waste these end pieces by cutting them off and throwing them away?" She replied, "I did that so it would fit in my small pot." 🙄 🙄 🙄
