Monday Morning Giggle

Most people recognize the angry woodpecker in this cartoon. He is known as Mr Horsepower and was believed to be created by Clay Smith and used as mascot for a business established in 1931 and known as Clay Smith Cams. Over the years, the woodpecker has been modified slightly and became synonymous with Thrush Mufflers. However, the Thrush woodpecker did not have a cigar in its mouth. Some people also believe that Walter Lantz got his idea for Woody Woodpecker from Clay's character. A picture of Thrush Mufflers woodpecker is below.
