Hello. folks, it's space-filler time.
Nobody seems to be posting music here anymore, but I know you are always hungry for amusement to fill those empty hours, so just for fun I thought I'd offer a couple of things of my own. Whether these are actually "music" is not for me to say, but obviously I like to think so. Headphones on, volume cranked up to 11 and let's go.
Now as a rule, people from my side of the pond shouldn't even dare to try and write a "country" song with a story line. But rules are there to be broken, so here comes "Mary Ann".
And if you want something a bit quirkier. well I had this little idea for a story that really needed a punch line but, interestingly enough, I had it all written, right to the second-last line, before the punchline popped into my head just in time. Blink and you'll miss it.
"Sad-eyed Billy"
p.s. Beachy Head is a sea cliff in the south of England, well-known as a venue for attempts at self-termination with extreme prejudice
You may find these embarrassingly bad, but as with other embarrassingly bad things I have posted in the past, I make no apologies. They may fill a few moments (which could feel like hours), after which you can fall gently back into your habitual drink-fuelled stupor. Gee, Martha, ain't it time for my pills yet?

Wonderful! I found the lyrics to both and sang along with the tunes. The first couple attempts were pathetic but after a half dozen tries, I fit right in. I wonder if it's time to get my drums out of storage????
Not quite sure what you meant by "I found the lyrics"? They are unpublished originals! Or do you have a clever app that transcribes lyrics direct from recordings? Anyway, glad you enjoyed them.

I wrote them down as the songs played. It wasn't easy gathering them, I'll tell you, through tear-swelled eyes. But somehow I managed and the result was nothing short of epic.
Your dedication does you credit. But just remember, if you ever get around to releasing your own recorded versions, royalties will be payable, and just like JK, I have friendly people I can send round to make sure you understand all the legal niceties.

Excellent ditties Graeme! The title Mary Ann is kinder than one that came to my mind...."Truck Stop Hooker". Sad Eyed Billy filled my heart with warmth and joy....until the last line which made me burst into laughter. I'm going to go out on a limb here, but I would say you have written the only song mentioning a 3-eyed baby.
Oh no, Jack, there are dozens of them out there. But I'm guessing maybe you don't browse the dark web as much as I do.

much better than doof doof! I'll recommend them to the DJ at my next rave party!

Will they be singing Christmas Carols when they come?
Unlikely. Thanks to my tireless efforts there are very few of those folks still available for hire.

@graeme-ogg You're quite right Graeme; no such web for me. I have seen enough "dark" over the years to last several lifetimes.
