@georgeschire I also prefer the '56 Fairlane over the '57, but I love the look of it all the same. Interesting that it outsold the Chevrolet in "57; although I think that reversed itself in "58. I wonder if the beautiful 2-tone color options and the trim to accommodate it was a factor in the '57 Ford's success? I know it is in my preference.

You are correct, Ford did outsell the Chevy in '57, and yes, that was reversed in '58. I like both the '57 and '58 Ford's, but not better than the Chevy's for those years. The '58 Chevy, took the honors in my opinion for best looking American car that year.

@georgeschire I agree that the '58 Impala was far better looking than the Ford; although I do like it very much.

@100ford2003 Coincidentally Steve, that is just what my wife and I (and Otis of course) did this afternoon; sat out on the back deck soaking up the sun with various cheeses, crackers, cherry tomatoes, kalamata olives and a *bottle of pinot gris. Lovely!
* Actually it was a bottle and a half......almost two. Otis can really pound 'em back.
Sounds like a perfect way to while away the afternoon !
And are you sure it was Otis..?
