@perrone1, I take phone calls via Bluetooth as well. I can handle that. What I cannot do is use my cell while driving. All my calls are either received via CarPlay or made via voice activation.

@perrone1 If you have a chat with a neurologist they will likely tell you that you cannot pay attention with two major senses at work, such as eyes and ears. Each will compete for the brain's attention. Six years after the arrival of cellphones I made the conscious choice not to take calls in the car, even if I was on a long, six lane straight road.
All three of our Benzs have that device, as well, and I have lived ticket-free for twenty-plus years, in Deutschland.
Very smart of you!
It's ultra rare for me to get a call in the car and even rarer for me to make one. I don't drive on highways or interstates any more, since retirement so around town at 20 MPH seems safe enough but I get your point!!
In NYC it's 10 MPH and above that will get you a $50 ticket in the mail within a week of the offense. No points since the person diving is not identifiable. Ask me how I know.@bob-jackman Photo radar could work much better IMHO if the tolerances were more reasonable. It would be far more accepted if the speed tripping the machine was one that, when you got the ticket in the mail, made you respond "yeah...okay that's fair enough". Sadly in my experience the politicians quickly turn it into a massive cash grab by setting insultingly low tolerances which quickly erodes public support and leads to program discontinuance. Of course nobody asks the officers doing the job what they think....same old story.

Tony, about 3 or 4 years ago, I was driving the Corvette on Richmond Avenue (Staten Island, NY), 41 MPH on a 30 MPH speed limit posted road. I frequent Staten Island regularly and as a result of that ticket, I'm now most aware of my speed and the speed limit. Waze is a big help identifying speed and traffic light cameras. Thus far only the one ticket. I try to keep it that way.How do YOU know John?

Good for you! 41 might be an 'unlawful speed'. But in a car such as a Corvette, versus the normal car, it is NOT 'speeding'.

Just a little add-on to the German speeding ticket system. Here, a photograph is taken by the automated system, which includes the driver, so one can't claim he/she wasn't at the wheel and, even if one wanted to make that claim, as owner you're responsible anyway. Yep. Just think if I had kids borrowing my car...
