...yeah, we discussed all this weeks ago (I really want a 2028 'vert ) and the general consensus is, despite everything floating around on the web, that the all-new 2028 Camaro will undoubtedly look much like this - to compete with the successful MACH-E. "The times, they are a change'n...." 😔 😌
@sizedoesmatter Hey, TRUST ME, I pray I'm wrong.... I'd LOVE to see a '28 Camaro coupe & convertible, but the odds are against it. "Fingers crossed!" 🙄 😶 🙄
That AvarvarII illustration in Car & Driver John, is wicked looking. I especially like the back end of it. And like you, Chris, man would it look wild as a drop top!!
If it looks like those illustrations it should sell like crazy. We can only hope. 🤞
I like the tail end design but hope that the nose gets changed as to my eye it is rather generic/dated.
A great deal of dialog was being spent regarding the new Camaro. For me this is the first time I've come upon pics that appear to me as what a Camaro should look like. It would be a travesty if the Camaro name were used for a 4-door sedan or an SUV. Just my opinion of course. I guess we have to wait and see what the future holds.

I can only hope info on this article is correct. It was 1970, I was home from out of state college for just a few days and Dad wrecked my T-Bird. I had one day to buy another car and Dad sent me to his friend managing a Chevy dealership, blank check in hand with instructions not to go crazy, meaning don't buy a Camaro. Off the lot I bought a new 1970 Nova SS 396, loaded with about every option except a vinyl top. Dad thought a Nova was practical until he got the insurance bill but by then I was States away, back at school. Dad joked for years how I got revenge.
I didn't buy a Camaro until 2010 when I was living in Canada. I had earlier seen concept pictures of the 5th generation Camaro, sexy and love at first sight, 2008 concept car shown in 2006. So in May 2010, I ordered my 2011 2LT, a month before they went into production and the dealership didn't even have the 2011 prices. A little more than pissed off as the Camaros were made in Canada, in 2010 the USA dollar and CAD dollar was equal, but my Camaro MSRP was $5,000 more for the same car shipped to the US. I was an US expat, I could have gone back to the US and bought the Camaro, but GM Canada would not warrant cross-border new car purchases. Ford of Canada would warrant cross-border purchasers but my heart was not with a Mustang.
I didn't want a SS, as that would have required a rear spoiler (not liked) and summer tires (I was in Canada). It took 90 days for me to receive my special ordered, fully optioned 2011 2LT Camaro coupe (except for sunroof), Summit White with beige and charcoal interior. I received emails daily from GM Canada, sometimes hourly. I was informed every step from day one when my order was placed, to when my Camaro started on the assembly line, to when it exited the assembly line. I have a record of how many hours and minutes it took to make my specific Camaro. It was like recording and experiencing your car being birthed. I was notified when my car went on a transport truck, when it was delivered to the dealership. I remember going to the dealership to see my Camaro the first time. It had been cleaned / detailed and put on the showroom floor with a sign that said 'Sold do not touch'. On the dealership showroom floor was also a modified 2010 Camaro worth at least three times more than my simple white 2LT Camaro. I let them keep my Camaro on the showroom floor for a week.
My 2011, 2LT with a Six and 312 HP is all I need with some get-up-go driving in the city. I love my 5th-generation Camaro that just turned 21,000 miles, hope it will be my daily driver for many more years. It is the right size two-door 2+2 for me with a fold down rear seat for extra cargo space when needed.
Reading the attached article I noticed the next Camaro might offer 4-wheel drive, also likely to help boost sales in areas with cold-weather climates. Must admit, I didn't want an SS with standard summer tires so I ordered the 2LT with all-season tires. Those factory P-Zero all season tires were useless in cold weather and snow. I would joke I had better traction and steering control if I was driving in snow, in reverse. I hated those factory P-Zero all season tires.
I haven't been on a Camaro forum for years, but I can hear the screams of discontent about a four-door Camaro. Camaro owners, new and old, are as passionate about their cars as are Mustang fans.
"I haven't been on a Camaro forum for years, but I can hear the screams of discontent about a four-door Camaro. Camaro owners, new and old, are as passionate about their cars as are Mustang fans."
....but therein lies the rub. What "Camaro fans?" You mean those old guys - their numbers dwindling by the day? In recent years, the MACH-E Mustang has outsold the traditional Mustang. Like I said, I'd LOVE to see a 2028 Camaro coupe & convertible.... but the Old School Muscle Car Gods are against me. 🤐 😫 🤐 😮
