This afternoon I talked to a man who said me he could find no insurance-company for his 300 hp 2017 Porsche, just because he was 67 years old.
Remembering those days when youngsters could not buy their muscle-car, I thought to myself : history repeats ?

...seems a bit fishy to me. 300 hp is nothing today, and I haven't heard of any Baby Boomers ineligible for insurance because of their age. Hmmm........ 🤔 🤔

Can't vouch for the overseas market but here there is a market for everyone - at a price.
Chances are he neglected to mention his driving record. Each of my current cars is over 300 HP and one of them is a 2 seat sports car. I am 78. BUT, I have a clean driving record and have had one for about as long as I can recall.

@perrone1 Not sure but I believe each state has different rules regarding drivers license eligibility. My state does not as far as I know but a friend who lives in an adjoining state told me that his state limits older drivers to a one year term and must be tested to achieve that. What bothers me is that I never see older folks texting or other activities while driving yet younger ones are driving distracted in so many ways.

I'm insured. I'm 82 with a 436 HP Corvette and 268 HP Infiniti. I do have a clean driving record.

@perrone1 Tony; I'll bet if the cops ran radar in your back yard when you're out on your John Deere Grass Blaster they would get a shock!

@jkuvakas I had a clean driving record...once.
Pretty hard to rein in that Maverick Cobra with the dual exhaust you drove a few years ago JK......impossible not to pick up a few tickets. 😉

So funny you say that - I just got back in from mowing with it. This was #30 for the season. Longer this year than last due to all the rain we got most of the year so far. I don't speed on that puppy; I cruise and enjoy the day.@perrone1 Tony; I'll bet if the cops ran radar in your back yard when you're out on your John Deere Grass Blaster they would get a shock!
