@chris The keys I have are both original to the car. I can say with certainty that I have owned the car 53 years and nothing has been re-keyed during my ownership. There were two owners before me but both are deceased so I have no way of knowing if either of them had changed the locks but I am very doubtful. As to other GM cars either my dad or I have owned, all had two keys. By the way, the keys for the Corvette have the square-head.

@perrone1 mine has the pouches instead of a locking glove-box, so that leaves the key with only one purpose.

So did mine, but behind the seats were three boxes. Battery, jack and tire tools and the third was a glove/storage box. Didn't that one have a lock on it??

HA!  Not me brother....   I update my cell phones about every 10 years; when I get a new one, Verizon pays me....    I'm very content with "entry-level stuff!"     😏 😉
