Well, actually it was a Hillman Hunter they built, but nevertheless....
My Iranian colleague told me about them.
And then I told him that a model-car would be great.
Guess what, he already orderd one for me, in scale 1:43.
Can't wait to get it, including the box with all those nice texts.
Iran is not the typical land from which you might expect a car, right ?
The same goes for Egypt and they had the Gamilla (Autocult).
Israel had the Sabra (Autocult).
Belgium had the Neretti (Autocult).
And Brazil had the Bianco (Autocult).
Ever wondered why I just LOVVVVVVVE Autocult ?
Pics when it comes in please! Does it have a Hemi? LOL! (Sorry)
Just wondering who makes the model you have ordered. It may be a resin model produced by Otol, a Turkish company set up by an Iranian modelmaker and dealer who moved to Turkey when the commercial situation in Iran became too difficult. They produced a nice model of the Hunter (or the Iranian Paykan).
There was an article in MAR Online about the 1:43 white metal and resin models produced by various makers including Crossway Models, Silas Models and Hastings Classics, with varying degrees of accuracy.
Otol Models Hillman Hunter Mark 2 1968 (Updated) | MAR Online
The Otol model seems to be the best of the bunch.
I thought the Hunter was a pleasant and well-balanced (if unspectacular) design, and I wanted a model of it, so long before any of these commercial models were available I had a go at converting Corgi's rally version of the car. Shame they never adapted the casting to make the standard production car.
Anyway, mine turned out reasonably well and since there was nothing else available, I was happy with it.

@perrone1 Probably a demi-hemi Tony, if it's Hillman Hunter based.
@perrone1 Demi = 1/2....so that guzinda 8 like...16 times; so yeah, I would say it's a V-2. Either way it's a real rocket!
Tony, ain't you glad you got all of that school housen wen you wer a kid?
@perrone1 Thanks Tony...but I humbly give most of the credit to my Rithmetic teachers over the twelve year span of my Grade 7 Certificate of Attendance.
@perrone1 I'm loving this new math stuff! A guy can sure lern lots here!
I am glad to impart my numeralistic knowingness upon you Tony; considering what you have recently taught us about vino, martonys and fromagology. It's a resyphllisical arrangement....you know....a kind of backatchaness that advances smartness.
