The Riviera convertible looks as if it could have been put into production with no more modifications; but GM must have seen there was no market for upscale convertibles at that time. The Toronado, to me, appears to be a mishmash of styles that is held together only by masking tape and multiple expectations. It's a wonder GM didn't put it into production!

David, I have no idea why GM decided against the Riv 'vert but "no market?" I find........
...that hard to believe. Convertible sales hit an all time high in 1965, of course just 10 short years later they were ALL gone. But in the early '60's.....convertibles were everywhere!

I always loved designing future cars but felt
I did not have what it took. When I see something like that Toronado concept, I think "hell, I designed better stuff than that".
