Here is an old picture of Daytona Beach, Florida. You could park on a part of the beach in those days and the automobiles in this shot are fantastic ! Everyone in the shot is much older or gone now ..... but the cars would still look the same and are timeless in a way.

Great memories, Thanks Mike. I drove the length of Daytona Beach with my young family back in about 1970 in my 1966 Chevelle SS Convertible.

Exhilarating feeling back then.

Every year my dad would pack up the family and we would head to Florida on vacation. In 1955 we had a 1955 Pontiac Star Chief convertible and every year we would go to Daytona to drive on the beach. Wonderful memories for this, then, 15 year old. Thanks Mike.

Thank you, Bob. We didn't take it to Florida (where we went on vacation several times in the '50's, including 1956, but we had a 1955 4-door Pontiac sedan in two-tone blue.

It's been years but I think it was 1980 or 81 you used to be able to park on the beach down here in San Clemente actually in San Onefre where the nuclear power plant was you could park on the beach right there cuz I know I had my car parked there and I took a nap and my wetsuit was stolen while I was sleeping I guess it was because I was a newbie and didn't belong there to surf. Assholes can be territorial.
