My favs
I've always like this era. I like the Chrysler, La Salles, and that outrageous yellow Hudson convertible.
I like that woody wagon best.
Ah yes, the salad days, no cares or worries
"Gee, our old LaSalle ran great. Those were the days."
the ' 47 Chrysler has these metal pins on the side...what are they called ?
Curb feelers, Joop, meant to make a grating noise when in contact with cement curbs.
Hmm...what do no cares or worries have to do with salad ?
And that's why those whitewalls look so good !
Me too. It reminds me of my first Dinky Toy I got as a pre-schooler.
I have a mint/boxed one today, but not that one....I wrecked it.
I think only Julius Caesar knew the answer to that....
Et tu?

I believe Brutus took a stab at it, but only Caesar knew.
The 47 Chrysler and 40 LaSalle are my favorites.
There is a song from a gathering of old time musicians that runs like this........
Curb feelers and Fender shirts
Rub the chrome 'tll your elbow hurts
A car's a car and that's a fact
But a deuce and a quarter ain't no Cadillac.
The musicians are:
Levon Helm - The Band, Drums & Vocals
Keith Richards - The Rolling Stones, Guitar & Vocals
Scotty Moore - Guitar, one time picker with Elvis Presely.
I forget the name of the song and the names of any other players.
