I am rather forgetful now days, so I am not sure if I recently put this up. It is a professional picture from the 1957 Chicago Automobile Show at the International Amphitheater of the GMC Palomino show truck. GMC was one of my Dad's clients from the Fifties through his passing in 1990. The truck is in a beautiful golden color and I believe this pickup may still exist.
I do happen to know for a fact those rubber tiles under the truck really DO still exist !
Mike, that is one beautiful truck.

+1 I have always loved the front end of this truck and the metallic color really sets it off.
How cool! Great story too. It does put me in mind, because of the beautiful colors, of a palomino horse. Gorgeous!
This shows that, even back then, GMC had an upscale image.

Thanks ! It is such a gorgeous color and it is a real knockout on this GMC pickup truck. I had understood that Harley Earl was also delving into attractively-styled pickups and other vans/trucks at this time. (pretty advanced thinking then) like the 1955 GMC 1955 L'Universelle, etc.
It is a beauty, isn't it ! I would be delighted to drive a real GMC like this around.

I love this truck and wish that Goldvarg would do it in this color combo at some point.

Ooooh riiiight! I can't believe I didn't pick up on the "Palomino" bit......DOH!
(see what I did there?......sorry)
It sure is a remarkably cool color ! It would make a sensational replica even if it is/was a one-off show pickup truck.
