Although my Dad had quit smoking cigarettes back in the Sixties, he still kept an unlit cigar that he would chew on to have something to do !
Back in the day, he had several automotive and truck clients, who in the 1950's and 1960's might present a lighter to someone in the industry as a gift and token of appreciation. Here are some he had and I now keep.
Excellent momentos! I have some of my dad's things on my dresser as a way to think of him every day.

They do work very much as tangible memories, John ! When my Dad did smoke in the 1950's he smoked "Oasis" cigarettes. He quit cold turkey one day when he found himself about to go into a meeting with GMC or Dodge trucks and he had a lit cigarette in each hand and couldn't decide which one to use. He realized how ridiculous it was and he quit immediately at that moment !
Collections are always fun to see. My dad a matchbook collection numbering in the hundreds.
We are all collectors in a way !

Ain't it so!! We all, here, collect diecast cars. I also collect antique cameras, Native American silver coins, old Gillette safety razors, vintage Colt firearms and John Deere diecast tractors.
Love to hear what everyone else collects.
@perrone1 Tony you are a true renaissance collector. Me? besides model cars and a few 1/1 cars...mostly dust.
Watches! Well, those and compliments. But my compliment collection is struggling. I just can't seem to come across any! Suggestions anyone??

John, you consistently do a great job sir! Speaking for all of us here, I feel sure, THANK YOU for all you do! (That one you deserve big time!)

Thank you my friend - I think I actually date back to the Renaissance period!
@perrone1, OK! Those are my first two! I'll have to make room if I get any more. Kelly says there's no danger of that!

We have the Zippo lighter Kathy's Dad carried in WWII-
Kinda in regards to the Plymouth cigarette lighter, I had heard the story from my Dad that a Plymouth executive went to the Chrysler track to take a new test Plymouth out on the big banked oval for a spin (a new upcoming Barracuda ?) and left the front drivers window down. At very high speed the huge rear window blew out ! He was ok, but Chrysler then forbid executives from taking a test car out for a spin on the banked test track !
