Hopefully, it is bright and sunglasses are needed in the daytime! But back in the early 1940's and also in the mid-Fifties,these renderings were done in automotive styling studios of the possible "Car of Tomorrow".

Yes, bright, sunny, warm and, pleasant with a mild breeze up in the mountains today. The mid-fifties DeSoto 'Car of Tomorrow' is joyous but I can see it being even more so as a two-door!

The forties teardrops are art deco to the max!

I wonder if that dream DeSoto had any Norseman influence in it ? That enormous airplane in the first image almost seems to have some Consolidated-Vultee (Convair) B-36 influence in it, although in 1941 it was still just in the possible concept stage.

Doors cut into the automobiles roof and prone seating for the pilot probably worked better in the imagination and artists ideas than in actual real world ! Unamused Wink
