PICS: A 1963 Chrysler Imperial convertible, in a common shade of white, with the stand alone headlights that have always seemed out of place....

to me, breaking up what is otherwise a pleasing body profile. I've taken a stab at correcting this.

As found:

63 Imperial Crown Convertible   PSX (2)

With some front end bodywork:

Well honestly......when Chrysler Corp. "sawed off" the fins but left the headlight "cups" (which you can't clean!) that totally (IMO) ruined the look, so to me, THIS DOES look better! Good work! Laughing Out Loud

To my eye, it is less distinctive. The headlight pods were a risky move but it worked. They're not for everybody. But, memorable designs have that tendency to polarize a bit.

My feelings as well.  I never minded the unusual headlight application because IMO it was a bold statement. It was the chunky fins of the 1961 model that I didn't really care for.
