You don't see hood ornaments much anymore, but some years ago, these two were attached to a couple of beautiful older American automobiles at a local car night automobile show. I think I know what make of car, perhaps you do , also ?

I think you very well could be right ! I had thought perhaps a '36 or '37 Pontiac or a Thirties Pontiac with "Silver Streak Styling" and I thought the next one, with that hood ornament, might be a jet-powered Oldsmobile, but I think your Chevrolet from 1956 is much more likely, as I think a 1956 Chevrolet had made appearances at out local car shows.

Cool post Mike! Some guys have large collections of Hood Ornaments/Mascots. I thought about it but backed off.

Though I don't have it, I do recall a book published some years back, perhaps a decade or more ago, that featured only old car hood ornaments.  For those interested in hood ornaments, it might be worth seeking out.

Thanks!  I knew I'd remembered seeing one, but great for those that like them, that there are books that can enhance their love for them.
