perhaps one of the most iconic Deuce coupes, known by far more car and non-car guys and gals, than probably any other Ford hot rod.

My wife and I had the pleasure of attending a showing of unique rod & customs at the Oakland Museum of Art, in around 1989, as an exhibit honoring the California car culture, over the years. It was open to the public for a brief period, but through a friend whose sister was employed at the Oakland Museum, we were welcomed to view it at our own pace, with very few people around. It had many well known cars: Billy F. Gibbons' CadZZilla; the restored Hirohata Mercury, before the interior was done; Cliff Inman's '57 Chrysler plus 20 or so additional, high quality cars.

I offer photos of the Milner coupe, as shown at the Oakland Museum, in a garage set and the same car with the background blacked out. The black background really makes the car pop, and allows one to appreciate a very basic Deuce hot rod of the early 60's, built in a home garage, using many used parts and others that were traded for. The Man-a-fre 4x2 staggered intake manifold, fish mouth carb scoops, long tube headers, crude but effective bobbed rear fenders, chrome reverse open wheels and blackwalls.

In my humble opinion, this is very much about what hot rodding was about in the late 50's & early 60's.

Enjoy!
