Everybody knows Bob Falfa's '55 Chevy from "American Grafitti" but how many of you guys remember James Taylor's shoebox gasser from the 1971 film "Two Lane Blacktop"? Here's a pretty good replica....

Thanx fur lookin'....
Thanks for bringing us along. I love that the '53 Merc doesn't seem to be...
clearcoated. I like the way clearcoat looks but, with so many restorations being painted that way, it's getting hard to tell what a great finish looked like back then. I saw an ad for an "all original" 69 Chevelle SS 396 that was beautiful and had a mirror-like finish. I asked if it had been clearcoated and the owner said, "Of course!"

Very interesting array of cars. Looks like a fun event. The Audi powered Batamn ...
... looks particularly interesting. However, the handling characteristics must be frightening with all that engine weight hanging past the front wheels.
The guy swore that with him sitting in the car, it was fine, but then he'd hafta say that, right?...
He also said he plans to add a turbo or two. :O
Yeah, I suppose he would. I wonder how he figures that his design has managed to overcome ...
... the laws of physics. 😉
Whatever you do, don't slam on the brakes!!
Great pics! Love that Merc!
Looks perfect 50-50 weight distribution 50% ahead of front wheels & 50% behind front wheels so whats wrong? oh those pesky rear wheels? well take them off! shouldn't hurt at all. No I don't want a ride at any speed.
HA!
Ha! Good one, Dave!
