Power equipment

Most early power assists (Windows,seats) were electro hydraulic,as most convertible tops still use.The electric motor pressurized a hydraulic cylinder to provide motivation.Note that the Lincoln push button doors were mechanical.In the 50's many states prohibited custom car enthusiasts from installing electric solenoids to open the doors,as it might impede rescuing crash victims if the battery may have come unconnected.This made those Lincoln button mechanisms a favorite trick. I love being old enough to have lived and breathed cars during those old days,and am familiar with this trivia.
