It’s kind of like having the ability to turn right on red…”to each his own”…I once had a roommate who “exercised his right to NOT turn right on red” (even though it was legal to do so)…or, it’s like understanding that the right to vote also means the right to not vote…
In today's climate “exercised his right to NOT turn right on red” would be etched on this tomb stone.
Sadly, I think you're right. We're living in a mean and irrational world. If ever we needed religion back in the mix, it is now. Our society has taken God out of everything and the inmates are running the asylum. Between the internet and social media, we've become a world without manners and kindness.

@georgeschire I've decided to start a new political party; it's called "The Wokenots". 😉
Note** This is simply low quality humor...not a political statement. Nuff said. Lol.
@georgeschire George; I think it's critically important for all of us to remember that 95% or so of the population are, if given the opening, very nice and kind hearted people. What is very troublesome is that the other 5% are getting so much "professional" and personal media attention now that it sometimes feels rather overwhelming. I worry about the eventual impact this sensationalized and overstated narrative will have on popular opinion and beliefs. I do realize that I'm not saying anything most of us don't know already, but sometimes it's good to toss it around a bit.

I do agree with you. The problem today, more than ever in the past, is that the news media has completely taken over the airwaves through TV, radio, podcasts, the internet, and social media. And to say that it's become sensationalized would be an overwhelming understatement. And sadly, (most) people choose to listen to "just one side of the news", and by doing so, are completely ignorant to what the truth (or close to it) is to any story reported. And because (most) people make the decision to not listen to all sides of every story, whether it be politics (or whatever) our country (and world) is more divided today than at any other time in our history. I fear, it's only going to get worse (and that's scary because I don't know it can get any worse). We're living in a time where "What is wrong is right, and what is right is wrong". Simply said, the world is a mess!
