@georgeschire As I noted in the post regarding college degrees, "The dumbing down of America continues and I'm not certain when it will bottom out."

@chris

Flags appear to accurate, as the odd rows are indented on 50 star flags. 😊

@lloyd-mecca Well, I'm glad I didn't place my bet with you.  😀 😀    I see now that those flags are 48 stars.      That's a nice tip I'll remember, thanks for the heads up!

Sadly, I think it has bottomed out already.  Kids today don't know common knowledge things.  Ask some who the first president of the United States was.  Ask them a simple math problem.  Ask them who the current Vice President is, or who the Governor of their state is.  Ask them them where the United States capital is.  I'm serious, having a conversation with some of them is torture.  Oh yea, we've bottomed out!

I wish I could agree with that, unfortunately, however, I continue to witness incrementally decreasing levels of intelligence.  It's funny you pose those questions; I have my own "test of three"   that I've used for years:

1) What's 10% of a dollar?

2) Who was the 16th President?

3) What's the 3rd planet from the sun?

I'm very shocked (but pleased ) when anyone under 25 (...and sometimes older ) correctly answers all 3.     Sadly, I'm rarely shocked.  😌 😌 😌

Well, truth be told, most Americans are tuned out to questions regarding the people who sit in the offices of their states.  Most cannot name both of their US Senators, House Representative, Lt. Governor, State Senator, State House/Assembly representative.  Most cannot name the three branches of government.

Your video proves my point.  Out country is dumb and getting dumber at a lightning rate.  We may as well take our kids out of school in the fourth grade and close the colleges.  We're wasting time and money with results not being attained.  I'm glad I'm the age I am and on the way out.  Our world is doomed.

We are slowly learning that a number of factors are responsible for dumbing down our young people....here are a few:

Wokeism run amok

Lack of consequences/discipline

Entitlement

Teaching the importance of respect and personal contribution

Overcrowding

Integration of certain special needs individuals to the point of excess class disruption and diminished learning environment

Burned out teachers

School boards with excess focus on woke agendas and politics and misguided funding of same

System underfunding in general

Lowering of academic standards (aka the great academic lie)

Obviously this mini rant has nothing to do with the price of say...a '56 Fairlane or '55 Bel Air or even narrow track Canadian Pontiacs,  so I will now refocus on far more positive car stuff.

Jack, your mini-rant nailed it.  I still honestly feel that we've dumbed down to the lowest element possible and it will never rebound to the positive.

A few years back [15 +] A new High School was built, and they had an atrium on the main entrance [what justifies that cost] and they had a large clock put on the front, a nice round analog with large roman numerals; often wonder how many of the students can actually tell time with it [what justifies the cost].

The only thing I can figure is the OLDER school board members preferred the looks.
