A great actor.   I saw him recently in Bass Reeves movie.   My favorite role, Odd Ball.

A terrific actor. We just watched him, and his son, Kiefer, a couple nights ago in the movie, "Forsaken". RIP!

He had many great film roles, my Top Five would be, in no particular order:

1) MASH

2) The Eagle has Landed

3) The Eye of the Needle

4) Animal House

5) The Great Train Robbery

He had an understated style yet always brought 'life' to his role.  It is a shame this was not recognised in Oscar success: though he did receive a lifetime's work award.

A long and successful life and a talented actor ! Films, like music and books, are one thing that will continue on into the future.
