...his wife AND their dog were all found dead. He was 95. Obviously, there's more to say. Stay tuned....

Sad to hear. Gene was one of the greatest "character" actors. I loved him as Lex Luthor in the 1980's "Superman" movies. Every movie he was in, the movie was better because of his being in it.

Don't actually know but guessing it was carbon monoxide poisoning. Same thing happened to Al Yankovic's parents many years ago. RIP.
Little Bill, Popeye Doyle, and Rupert Anderson were my all time favorite Gene Hackman roles. A God gifted, truly great actor and a real man’s man, he will be sorely missed!
...and don't forget all those Lowe's and United Airlines voiceovers.

I'd say that is the most plausible conclusion. I mentioned a gas leak in the other RIP post that morphed into this latest Hackman tragedy. This afternoon they are saying, "
Foul play isn't suspected, but authorities haven't disclosed how they died and said an investigation was ongoing. The gas company is assisting with the probe in a sign that authorities could suspect carbon monoxide poisoning is to blame. The New Mexico Gas Co. is working with the Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Department in the investigation, spokesperson Tim Korte told The Associated Press.
Hackman, 95, Betsy Arakawa, 63, and their dog were all dead when deputies entered their home to check on their welfare early Wednesday afternoon, Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Denise Avila said."
The latest:
At a press conference in Santa Fe on March 7, police and the chief medical examiner revealed that Hackman "probably died around February 18" from severe heart disease complicated by advanced Alzheimer's disease and kidney disease. Arakawa likely died a week earlier, around February 11, from hantavirus pulmonary syndrome, with Hackman possibly not realizing what had happened due to his Alzheimer's. Hackman's pacemaker recorded an abnormal rhythm on February 18, which likely marked the time of his death. The scattered pills found near Arakawa's body had been prescribed to her for a thyroid condition and did not contribute to her death.
