aw! a real favorite from my earliest interest in music days.
Oh my! I grew up listening to his songs - those he sang and those written for others. "Breaking Up is Hard To Do" is the one which stands out the most. R.I.P. Thanks for the music Neil!
Bummer, RIP Neil. The song I remember most is this one.
Neil Sedaka was an amazing musical talent and prolific song writer.
Being the half-*** musician that I am (I've written lyrics for two songs ) I've always been impressed with his ability to write songs - hundreds of them, including most of his early 1960's pop hits.
But here's just a few you may be unaware of:
- Bad Blood
- Stupid Cupid
- Wheeling, west Virginia (from Petticoat Junction )
- Laugher in the Rain
- Stairway to Heaven (different from Zeppelin's )
- Love will keep us Together
- Solitaire (The Carpenters hit )
- Working on a Groovy Thing
- Since you've been Gone
- Where the Boys Are
Lots of fond memories of his music. RIP sir.
He made a great contribution throughout his very long, successful career as a singer/songwriter and remained humble and pleasant. RIP Neil.
One of my favorites from Neil,
And another,

Not many artists can claim that a song they co-wrote was a hit twice - with two different arrangements at two different times. But Mr. Sedaka pulled it off!
