Not sure JB as I am always fat away in Maui, my happy place, when in the chair.
The only downside to the hammer toe fix is that the digit would remain straight and unbendable forever. Hey.....wait a minute.....I wonder....never mind.

Jack, the screw you have in mind is called the "Diddle Bolt". If I remember right, it was blue.
There is not enough anesthetic on the planet to ready me for that operation.
