Sacrilege!!! That's like putting the Pony's heart in his butt....it's just wrong.
@jack-dodds Well, Corvette did it and the results seem to be quite successful so far.
I'm thinking this might be yet another offering on the Mustang brand. Multimatic Motorsports, the makers of the current GT are developing the car. If it is produced, it will be a supercar and in very limited numbers, probably to replace the GT.

Please Bob, don't confuse me with common sense.......
@bob-jackman Seriously though Bob; now that the mid-engine Corvette has been around a while I thought recently that I would have another look at it and compare it to its predecessor. I have to say that, as when this new generation came out, I still much prefer the predecessor for styling/looks. Performance and handling wise I'm convinced the new version is a significant improvement but I'm not a racer and so to be honest that advantage isn't all that important to me. I have never (for some unknown reason) been attracted to the look of Lambos, Ferraris and the like as street cars; to me they belong on the track. The new Vette falls in with those cars for looks and to a degree performance. I suspect this is why I prefer the look of the earlier Corvette. Don't get me wrong, the new Vette is an amazing car for sure; just not for me. In conclusion I would prefer the old tech '63-67 Sting Ray over all other Vettes.

Jack, I'm in total agreement with your thoughts, copied above. My own interest in cars relates to their place within society: who individually drives which vehicle and on the broader scale of social / political changes and where it all fits into our shared history. In this sense, whilst racing and the drive to "push-out the inside of the envelope" (as the space pioneers were wont to say) may be enthralling, it remains its own world, unrelated to the excitement and humdrum of life on the streets and avenues.
Jack my view of the Corvette is somewhat skewed in that I have driven a friends. Like you, I am not a big fan of the foreign exotics as street cars either. The driving experience of the C-8 is beyond anything I could have imagined and the comfort factor was a plus I never expected. Now to the real problem for me is that getting in and out of the car is near impossible for this old man. My 61 is difficult in this regard but nothing like the C--8, or for that matter C-4s onward. Since the Mustang has a rear seat I'm wondering how the engine would be placed and would the Mustang then become a two seater?
Couple things:
This is a picture of the 2024 Mustang, not the proposed mid-engine that will be introduced today.
The more I look at the C9, the more I am convinced I like the C7 better for its looks. Like the rest of you, I have tremendous respect for the C8 and what it can do. I also commend GM for finally giving the Corvette a world-class interior and making it comfortable as well. The C8 is an amazing machine in all respects. I like the looks of the C7 better. To me, it looks more like a Corvette. That being said, I'm reasonably sure future generations will see the C8 as what a Corvette should look like.

GM authority posted the wrong picture.
The picture John posted is the right one, as GM states....
The brutally looking one.....
By the way, it is very nice to read nice words GM Authority says about Ford Authority.
Anyway, it sure looks great, to me.
I like all gasoline Corvettes from 1953 onward. I had heard that the beautifully-styled Aerovette from circa-1980 was possibly approved for production, although with a mid-engine 400 CID V-8 propulsion, rather than the show car mid-engine 4-rotor Wankel motor. However, high production costs, etc supposedly stopped that effort. It is still a gorgeous automobile !
