I have really tried several times with this one company. Between listed for sale items not being in stock. To shipped items not completed.  On that note refunds were always given. To this latest misstep of shipped product delivered to wrong residence. Again that fell on the delivery company ( FEDEX ) it's how they didn't handle it, that ends my time with them.

Now I don't know about you folks but when I ship I am responsible until product arrives to the buyer. I go above and beyond to make it right. Then I go after the reason for doing so. My package was delivered to a home not even close to my residence. OK things happen. But when company was contacted about this, only expresses I didn't purchase their insurance. Wait what, so my money was good enough to pay for the product shipped, but if I want certainty I needed to buy more insurance.  OK shame on me for believing what I paid for shipped, should actually be covered.

On that note with them I am done. I am not bashing them, I will not reward companies for poor service. This is my experience and yours may vary. ..

Welcome to today's world; and like you, I hate it. As a seller, I will do whatever it takes to get the item to the buyer, on time, in the described condition and if it does not, make full restitution. Too many people today take shortcuts and feel that since everyone else does, that that's OK. It's not. Yes, there are still some who see the transaction all the way through, but it sems like they are becoming the exception, not the norm. Sorry you have had to experience this Ben!

@perrone1 I appreciate this truly and I would readily purchase from you based upon this. Unfortunately I have lost faith in shipping so all of the models I was going to sell, unless we meet face to face I'm not doing. It's a shame as there were to be some fantastic price wise deals. Knowing I can not assure delivery, has now soured me. 😟😟😟😟😟

That's **** nuts!     Following these "practices & policies,"  they could theoretically deliver ALL uninsured packages incorrectly WITHOUT recourse!

Anything NOT insured could simply be THROWN OUT THE TRUCK's BACK DOOR or kept by the drivers!     That's **** nuts!

@modeldadeeee

I hear you Ben. I also SO empathize with you on USPS mis-deliveries. They drive me nuts! The neighbors and I are constantly exchanging them!

Many shipping companies have an automatic coverage amount and anything valued at more than their limited coverage requires additional coverage.  In forty years I have never run afoul of this because I always checked to find out what those minimums were for every shipper with whom I entered into a contract.

Federal Express minimum today is 100USD Domestic

UPS minimum today, is 100USD  Domestic

DHL minimum today is 500€  Domestic & International

@modeldadeeee  You can still sell through TDZ's SALE forum and it will also benefit the website, as the seller pays 10% for the use of that forum.  It's a win/win by any measure and you would be dealing with knowledgeable collectors, not lookey-loos.

@gdh sadly not the sellers, I'm concerned with poor shipping being the case.

@geno ironic enough it's not the money aspect as my company compensates me all around. It's the fact no offer of help was made about it. I would have refunded my buyers money, and did the leg work to recoup if need be.

@modeldadeeee   There is always a solution to any problem, if one looks hard enough.

If you truly want to unload items, you can always ask the buyer to arrange shipping.  That way you don't have to do anything but pack it up - carefully - and add the label the buyer sends to you.  Then, if there is an issue, it is the buyer's task to sort it out.  I have bought many things with this option, and knowing the insurance limits for the shipper I use is very important.  Always ask and always pay the extra.

I used to have an account with Enterprise, where I rented vehicles from them for my sales trips (this made every cost involved a deduction, whereas using my car would have only allowed me to deduct mileage).  I was at the counter one day and a man was asked if he wanted the insurance and he said no, he was covered by his personal policy.  He left with his rented Ford Taurus and as my vehicle was being brought up a few minutes later, he returned to the garage after having the side mirror ripped off the side of his rental car by a passing truck.  Needless to say the truck driver didn't even notice.  When he was told they would place the damage cost (1,500USD) on his credit card he nearly fell over.  Yes, he had personal car insurance, but with any rental company you will have to pay for the damage and then fight it out with your insurance carrier.  A simple question could have saved that man a sizeable chunk of change.  When I first rented with them I asked the young man if I bought the extra insurance and subsequently brought the car back, as a wreck, would they rent me another car and the answer was a solid yes, delivered with a smile.

I was selling my father's model planes on Ebay after his passing. I had some good experiences with the first 10 shipment. The next two, the buyer mentioned the PO had broken but he reglued and was happy. I was concerned and made some changes to how I shipped. The next plane went to Seattle.  I was keeping track of the package and saw the item was being returned undeliverable, address not good. After checking with buyer about his address, he requested a refund. Sent him a refund to the same address and he received it. Next day tracking showed the model was being resent only to show once again bad address and was coming back to me. After a week of no show, I went to the my local PO to get it. The box looked like an elephant had sat on it. No more shipping models by USPS.

All of the above comments are valid reasons for manufacturers and retailers to bring back the days when you could go into a Walmart or Target and buy your model cars instead of only being able to get them from an online supplier. It isn't working as all of you have commented.. Now that Stamp is planning on introducing diecasts in 1/43, I would gladly give up buying resin and white metal models that have to be shipped and arrive damaged and instead walk into a Walmart and buy my 1/43 models in person, knowing that it isn't damaged and if it was when I unpacked it, all I would have to do is return it rather than having to make the repairs myself. I think it is time to let the model manufacturers know the their online distribution system is broken and encourage more diecast production instead of fragile resin models.
