Couldn't agree more. Even I know that trousers and underpants should always be colour-coordinated. That way it doesn't matter which of the two you wear on top. Personally, I go either way, in a fairly random fashion (if that's the right word) from day to day. I find it's only when you try and make the on-top/underneath arrangement different on the two legs that mobility can be slightly hampered. Same principle applies to combining a singlet and shirt, although you might argue that anyone wearing those on their legs has a distinctly odd sense of sartorial propriety.

I still go with this look (less the cape and "S" logo) occasionally on mornings when I am somewhat mentally preoccupied.  Fortunately my wife intercepts me before I get to the door.
