my youtube algorithm seems to be proffering a good bit of shed and small home repos ....I finally watched one today and found it VERY interesting....this tough little fella accomplishes, in a couple hours,a task that would have left me parked out on the road crying Bruise

must be a reflection of economic turmoil that plagues the nation.....with the "Tiny Homes" fetching as much as they do,sans land and utilities, these sheds are last-ditch living

I`ll just post this one more video here.....to conceive of a young couple, with "just one payment remaining",greeting the grim reaper on the front porch

I'm betting it isn't so much of economic turmoil since these 'tiny homes' can sometimes be VERY high-end expensive. I think I understood most of the TV shows to push making a smaller carbon footprint.

And, oh my goodness, some of them are 250 and 300 sq ft. I couldn't live with a closet that small! I want my carbon footprint to say, after I'm gone, "Holy Crap, that guy must have been BIGFOOT!"  Surprised Laughing Out Loud Laughing Out Loud Laughing Out Loud Wink

as I`m sure you`ve become aware Tony,.....people often mistake you for a Bigfoot in your daily excursions Smile

but to get on the same page,"tiny homes" have everything a standard house has (in sizes too small to be effectively utilized if you attempt to close the bathroom door while seated therein).....near as I can tell, they start around 40G`s or so...........................my story here concerns "sheds" that people have begun to live in....an example of a 16 x 32 (as featured in the second video) can be had for as little as 8G`s plus change

@john-barry Regarding the emerging trend of house sizes needing to decrease in order to be more affordable; it actually seems "back to the future" to me.  If you look at old pics of how most people lived 50 to 150 years ago in North America, the average person's house was fairly small and simply designed; especially compared to what we have seen develop in the last 40 years or so.  The number and size of modern bedrooms, bathrooms, rec/family rooms, kitchens, garages, etc. is very much larger than when I was a kid in the 50s and 60s.  I was a real estate appraiser in the early 70s and that is when I became aware that new houses had begun to grow in size and additional features.  Throughout my childhood our family home was fairly small and simple; one bathroom...same went for all of my friends.  Very few second cars in our driveways either, come to think of it.  I wonder how much of an impact the current economic downturn will affect us residentially.  Between the initial house cost and the subsequent yearly taxes plus monthly upkeep, we may be in for a major adjustment in what the upcoming generation is able to afford.  Maybe we will see a new "average home" standard develop.

@john-barry There is no underestimating the legendary bare handed surf fisherman JayBee.....no matter what century we're talking about!  Now just have a seat and relax old timer; we have a show to criticize.
