Today we went to the very small but privatly funded Sinterklaas museum in Westzaan, The Netherlands, where Zwarte Piet's history through the years was told in a most entertaining way.
Being a fan of the traditional story, my wife and I regret the strong commerce and negativity around it.

It is a shame that the Christmas story of a dark skinned Moorish orphan, Black Peter, who hands out candy in the season has got mixed up with woke criticism and blackface banning. It is an old tale that has not survived well in modern multicultural society where mostly it is misunderstood.
