...as always, I have a story - several actually - but I'll tell JUST this ONE:
Sometimes in life, we ALL interpret things too literally; like "smoke detect guy," I too am guilty of this.
As a little kid I received, like millions of other boys in America, an Aurora AFX slot car set. With excitement, and parental supervision, I set it all up. The instructions noted CAUTION when removing the box-style electrical plug from the outlet: "AFTER EXTENDED USE, PLUG MAY BECOME HOT. HOLD BY EARS."
My Dad walked in, "What the hell are you doing?" With the box-plug next to my head I replied, "It says hold by ears." 🙄 🙄 🙄
