Love the diversity, quality well thats another matter. For me it is like you can handle it once. Sort of a set ot and forget it deal. My 1/18 Bmw M3 Touring arrived from them today. Pulled out of box, pristine. Set it down on kitchen table for photos and the tail lamp fell off lol. Gingerly carried it to the shelf where it shall remain.
Yes I am aware they are inexpensive and I have never had one. So figured I would give it a shot. Well shot fired and I am done lol.
Now your experience with them may have differed, so I am anxious to read your thoughts folks..
"I sat it down on kitchen table for photos and the tail lamp fell off....."
In all fairness to Solido Ben, I've handled $450 models and parts fell off.... it happens. 🙄 🙄 🙄
In the last 10 years, Solido has come a LONG way; they keep reinventing themselves to stay fresh & relevant. Solido, IMO, has one inherent problem.... they continue to release 1/18 models in which ONLY the doors open, nothing else (there may be a few exceptions ). For this reason, I have - really - just one.
....because it has no doors AND the engine is exposed. Therefore, Solido reproduced a very accurate model. 😀 😀
I acquired this one, years ago, for practically zero money ...and it's damn nice! Solido tooled a terrific 1/18 Meyers Manx Dune buggy. Easily, my favorite Solido!
Chris, that’s a dayum gl model. I love the color, the wheels and the RWL tires. You scored good on this one.
I have a yellow 1947 Chevrolet pickup truck done by Solido many years ago. Mine originally was a Pennzoil oil tanker truck that I converted onto a pickup. I learned later Solido actually did a pickup, but no matter, I had fun making a pickup bed for it It is actually listed as 1/19 diecast replica on the bottom of the model but it fits in well with my other 1/18ths, and, of course, it makes no difference in a photograph !
