Here is a music video circa 1986 by Daryl Hall called "Someone Like You". It shows a guy reminiscing about his now ex-girlfriend during his viewing of a home movie taken during a automobile trip out to California sometime before.

First of all, the girlfriend in the video is actually played by my cousin, Patty McHugh, who was a top supermodel during that era and also did some acting/music videos. She was in a lot of fashion shoots in those days. You can still find a number of her fashion images on-line and she has been for some years now an executive at a top construction company in Chicago. Here, she played the rather volatile female girlfriend that Daryl Hall sings/reminiscence about.

But the question I have is that, even though it is only briefly shown in part a couple of times during the music video, what is the 4-door car they are driving in ? I thought I had narrowed it down, but other than it is likely a four door, full-size (?) American sedan, what car is used here ? Other than basically a modded 4-door 1974 Dodge Monaco in 1/18 sedan, I don't have many diecast models of 4-door American sedans.

...looks to me like it's a 1968 Chevrolet Chevelle 4-door sedan.    (..and I'm lucky to have many American 1/18 4-doors but it takes real effort to find them )

Great video of a great vocalist. I agree with Chris. I think it's a 68-69 Chevelle.

Motormax had a Chrysler 300 and UT made a Chevy Impala. Those are two that come to mind.

@100ford2003 ...included among the 1/18 Domestic 4-door sedans (cars only, no SUVs) I own are several Cadillacs, several Fords, an Edsel, a Saturn, a Tucker, several Chevrolets including an EV, a Tesla, a few Chryslers, a Packard, a few Dodges, a Reo, a Nash, one Lincoln, and I'm sure a few others I just can't recall. 🙄

There are a few Buicks and other Lincolns available, but I do not (yet ) own any Buicks but, I'm hopeful a certain color/combo will someday be released for a particular Lincoln Towncar.

To my knowledge, no 1/18 4-door Pontiacs or Oldsmobiles have ever been manufactured. PLEASE correct me if I'm wrong.

Note: I did not include any American 1/18 4-door station wagons in the above list, only 4-door sedans or 4-door hardtops.

Thanks, guys ! I think I may have perhaps had some ideas about the possibility of a 4-door late Sixties Chevelle also, so you gentlemen most likely nailed it down.

I also agree with Chris.  The Chevelle is what it looks like to me as well. A 68-69 model.  Checking some photos on line for this model, the outside mirror should confirm the choice.

That makes several votes indicating a 4-door Chevelle from that era, so it's highly likely that could be the automobile seen in the video.

I would say it's a 1968.  Chevrolet switch from round side-view mirrors to rectangular in 1969.

Good point and another vote for a 1968 four-door Chevelle.

There is widespread agreement of this car in the video. It must be a 1968 Chevrolet 4-door Chevelle sedan ! Lol,  I wonder if Patty would remember ?

....thanks. And as noted, I have more, "than I could remember."   ...confirmed later that night as I looked over my shelves.  I'm not a fan of 1:1 4-door cars but LOVE (and seek out) 4-door replicas.  From "day one"  I was buying them. 😏

@chris

In my travels today I spotted a beautiful 4door hardtop white over red '56 BelAir.

I was in Van Nuys. I see lots 'n lots of different makes 'n models in my driving career.
