Truth be told the '51 and '52 Dodge's weren't really new at all due to the Korean War conflict, they styling for both years was pretty much carried over from the previous 1950 models. Most of the Dodge's factory output was turned over to defense production and the cars played second fiddle for these two years. Â
The only noticeable changes were red centers on the wheel covers on the '51's with the hub caps bearing Dodge script on the '52's. The major difference in the two-year run over the 1950 line showed up in the front end. A new grilled with larger openings at the base and six smaller outlets at the top nicely complimented the sloping hood design. The Dodge medallion was placed in the base of the hood directly above the block-lettered "DODGE". The rear of the car was pretty much the same as offered in 1950. Â
The 2-door Wayfarer 3-passenger coupe was the lowest priced offering 1951-52. For '51 it weighed 3,125 pounds and in '52 the weight decreased to 3,050 pounds. It sold for $1,813 in 1951 and for $1,904 in 1952. The factory put out 6,702 of this unique style for the two-year run. Â
The 1951-52 Dodge Convertible was commonly accepted by buyers as the most impressive looking car that the company offered. The '51 sold for $2,586 and for '52 it was bumped up to $2,716. Â
Being that 1951 is the year I was born and September of that year would have been the debut of the '52's, for nostalgic purposes only, these Dodge's are close to my heart and favorites on my GARAGE WALL. Â

So George...the 51 and 52 Dodge difference was only the hubcaps? I never knew that!

Well yes the hubcaps and the slight differences in the grille that I referenced in my original post. Basically though, they were the same cars. Â

Although the Chrysler Corp lineup for this generation was somewhat boring, I do find your posters and presentation most interesting. Good going George.

Of course, the single biggest selling point about these Dodges and other Chrysler Corp. cars was that a man could wear his hat in them! 🤣Â
@al_dorado, you are so right. And the cars roof heights were built with that in mind. It was the times. Â

@georgeschire Yes, I got that the 50 grille was different but didn't realize that the hubcaps were the only feature variance from 51 to 52. I'm very surprised that I never realized that all these years!

It is such a small detail, that I'm sure many never picked up on it. Look at it this way, you learned something new. I've heard it said that we should learn something new everyday.
