Let's see now, 5mph bumper verses a non 5mph bumper...
Hard to believe. That car had to be going 35-40mph, and the Chrysler with no damage. I know they were built solid, but not even a scratch on the paint or a dent in the bumper. Something seems strange.
@carsman1958 There's a little debris on the rear bumper of the Chrysler and on top of the trunk lid. If the Chrysler stopped hard, the rear bumper would have been raised higher than when sitting stationary and that would present that bottom, ridged part of the bumper to the colliding car. Looks like the major damage to the Chrysler was only the dismemberment of its license plate. But pure conjecture here - if it messed up the Chrysler owner's Reagan bumper sticker, he may have gotten out and beaten the the daylights out of the poor little compact!
No wonder our insurance rates are so high now. Remember when bumpers were designed to bump? Nice to see that the old Chrysler didn't sustain much damage; it would be a shame to see it get written off as it looks like a good survivor.
"Hard to believe."
Exactly... you can see why I was a bit incredulous, but apparently this accident did take place and, as Tony noted, there is damage to the New Yorker.
Other pics reveal plenty of plastic debris in the street and many small particles spread atop the trunk of the Chrysler. Also, the Chrysler had its rear plate torn off, its taillight frame cracked, and the bumper did suffer a few dents & scrapes.
All very accurate. But that's NOTHING! You should have seen what happened to the two-layer wedding cake in the trunk!! OMG - a highway massacre!"Hard to believe."

I always say - Mopar or no car!

@perrone1 Thank God it was just a rumor.... the 3 Stooges weren't in the trunk when the accident occurred....wouldn't want to risk them getting brain damaged.
