A couple of weeks ago somebody posted pics of some '70s wagons, include a Pontiac, and I thought, gee, that Poncho nose job is a bit OTT. Didn't the Edsel saga make them wonder if such a tall vertical grille was a good idea?
So I thought something a little more modest, just a touch more discreet, might do the job.
Yeah, I quite like that in a way, but maybe now the nose is a little TOO understated. Need to give it a bit more visual impact somehow.
Forgive me, Pontiac lovers everywhere, but it was another cold, rainy day in South London and I was just amusing myself.
my girl friend at the time (1974) drove her father’s 70 Bonneville convertible and she looked wonderful in it with the top down (the car’s), front grille and all.
May I suggest “come in out of the rain and hear the jazz go down… way down south London Town… “

Perhaps a thinner vertical styling bar would be more pleasing. Or, the use of the Endura bumper..
I think the 1969 Pontiac Catalina looked a lot better. I never warmed up to that 1970 front end.
OK, I'm on a roll. Pictorial history of the Pontiac Catalina in the 70's. The 1970 looks pretty good compared to the years that followed. The downsized 1977s and beyond were an improvement.
@pete-rovero The nose of the '69 Pontiac always reminded me of an eagle; overdone IMHO....never cared for it. The all chrome 1968 grille "beak" presents better.
