Great movie with wonderful scenery and action, but I was a bit stunned with the ending back then.

Not true - the Vanishing Point car was a '70 Challenger (not a Charger) & the car that was wrecked in the final scene was actually a '67 Camaro...
It sure looked like a '68 Charger to me [what a waist]. I believe we all know the VP car was a Challenger but in this vid it was a '68 Charger they rolled or it was computer generated as a '68 Charger. I could not find any thing that even resembled a Camaro???
In the original movie the car burning in front of the dozers may/could have been a Camaro but not the car wrecked in the vid presented here.

OK, my bad…I didn’t watch the clip (which is from the 1997 remake), I assumed the clip was from the original 1970 version…
This link, paragraph 5, talks about the Camaro being crashed…
