Duel is a gr8 thriller.  You can really feel Dennis Weaver's fear.  That little Valiant put up a good fight.

Le Mans is my favourite car movie for 1971 but there certainly were a lot of them. The French Connection chase was fantastic. Duel and Vanishing point were good and I'll watch James Bond movies anytime. There are a few here that I never watched so need some catch up. Thanks JK.

Not 1971 era but my two favorite car chase scenes are The 7-Ups with Roy Scheider and Ronin.  Bullitt was great but these are more accurate IMO.
