Washington DC and Niagara Falls were outstanding

Betty and I did the drive of 3500 miles to visit these great places and I must say that we had a really good time.

The Mall was impressive in that it is so large and there are so many things to visit. We liked the library of Congress and the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall where I found several school friends including Richard Anderson who recieved the medal of Honor. We walked the entire Mall over a two day period that we estimated to be about 8 miles total.

We stayed at the Mayflower Hotel which itself is a history lesson.

We were disappointed that we didn't have the opportunity to meet up with Terence Slekar. Maybe next time

Niagara Falls! What can I say.

We took photos and I'll post as soon as I have time.

We are off to Fargo and Minnesota's Leech Lake next.

Glad to be back and see everyone still here.

I'm sorry we didn't get that chance to meet, it would've been nice, but the timing just wasn't right

We were at Niagra Falls a couple of years ago and I saw a great old Cadillac!

We spent a night at LeRoy, NY, and visited (brace yourself) the Jello Museum there. But in the same building is a small transportation museum that had a beautifully preserved early Cadillac, about 1908. I was allowed to go under it to take a picture, as the engine is under the driver's seat. The hood in front covers only the steering mechanism. Sure, the falls were tremendous, but this old Caddy was special too! (And I ate Jello for lunch.)

Ditto Terence.

We are talking of another trip to DC before my oldest G-son graduates in 2018. We want to expose them to the District and experience history. All four babies will be between 9 and 18 so the trip will be good. Next time, we will come in later June so the crowds will be smaller. Next time for sure.

Jello Museum? I can't stop shaking!

The Cadillac had to be awesome.

We didn't see anything that old but as we were leaving Canada, a beautiful '55 Chevy appeared in my rear view. Pic later

I thought that the best part of the Jello...

museum was the fiberglass cow at the entrance. My wife really enjoyed the museum, I did also. I figured this was a good trade off for being allowed to visit the ACD museum and the Studebaker museum, and yes she enjoyed them too.
