Yes, quite a bit of coverage here in Canada about crazy people using plastic bags, hence my comment yesterday. I'm sure that the same stupidity would occur here if we got a gasoline shortage. Probably smoking as they filled the bags too.
@john-shamblin, not many folks are thinking rationally. There's really no shortage of gas other than from those folks that are freaking out and creating one.
Besides being a totally stupid, dangerous idea, and completely unnecessary panic-buying, how do they plan to get that gas into their vehicle?

Yeah, since most gas tanks are directly under the trunk, they can just drill a hole through the trunk floor, and let the spilling gas leak into the tank. Brilliant!
