Today I bought a really nice brochure of the class 6 or class 7 Chevrolet Bruin, depicted with a brown bear on the front page.

Why has Chevy called this truck Bruin ?

Any ideas ?

Bruin means brown in Dutch, but it can also mean brown bear.

But something tells me the Dutch market was clearly not what Chevy had in mind.

See picture from the internet.

Bruin is an old English word for a bear, derived from Dutch for "brown,".  Bears are very tough, strong animals which I think is what Chevy meant to convey.
