Where did one buy a gorilla cage in the mid forties ?
I`m watching "Captive Wild Woman ", a swell 1940 release from Universal.....In this one,a very young John Carradine is an evil scientist with a secret lab he accesses thru a hidden door in the study.....Wouldn`t you know it,he soon acquires a gorilla AND it`s cage, which he somehow manages to relocate to his lab...MANY MANY movies of this era had similar bad doctors. Almost universally,they owned gorilla cages, all with stout steel bars.......This trend went on for a while,and could also be seen in certain comedies of Abbott and Costello,Three Stooges, and the like........Just where did all the rest of these yahoos GET gorilla cages ???...And who were the heroes who DELIVERED them and got them set up in some of the most out-of-the-way locales imaginable??....could you just ORDER one from Sears and Roebuck?

Milburn Stone sold gorilla cages? Must have been before medical school.
