Blame the one that wrote that darn dictionary. Heck, even the words change in many cases as soon as you cross borders.

You should try French: the different words all sound the same no matter how they're spelt:
English French Sound
queue queue quue
tail queue quue
neck cou quue
arse cul quue
As you see, it ain't easy.
