@geoff-jowett Thank-you for taking the time to photograph your wonderful 500K Mercedes-Benz.  The repaint is excellent and if you don't mind my saying, a great improvement on the original. It looks like an early example; I would guess 1934?  Very elegant and sporty too.   Apropos Trax, they did - as you'll know - a number of nice 1/43s; some of which I would have liked to have, but they didn't seem to have much of a marketing strategy in Europe and the prospect of buying them wasn't encouraging, so I have none 😶 . But your Holden cab does look magnificent as too, does the later DDA Monaro - 1969?

thanks Charles you've given me an opportunity to plug DDA again. Along with the Monaro, here are the other 4 DDA 1/24s I have. As mentioned, exceptionally well detailed with spot on proportions.

1973 HQ Holden Monaro GTS (Shutline too tight, couldnt get the bonnet open.)

As example of getting the most out of a tooling, heres the 4 door Kingswood version in a caravan park diorama setting.

Further using the tooling heres a 1975 HJ Sandman

and a different Torana, a 1978 LX SS. (unfortunately couldnt get the bonnet open here either.

There are many, many colors and other variations of these toolings available, and they are not expensive. DDA took over Traxs 1/24 toolings and have produced further repaints of the FJ, 48/124 Holdens and XY and XW Falcons. They are just about to release a ute (pickup) version of the Falcons. I'm hoping they'll do the same with the old Holdens.

All are very nice models. I love the diorama which is so evocative of how we might imagine Australian outdoor life; all that's missing are the Victoria Bitters and the taipan!

Most are hard to find now, annoyed with myself for missing this one the other day, a 1900 Sprint-1951.

That is a gorgeous 1900 Sprint!  Sorry you missed it.  i tried to keep up with the similar 1/43 partwork series, but there were too many and too expensive postage to the US!

Great models! Karl can I suggest you try the Australian ebay? Not much diversity in 1/24, another reason I'm kicking myself for missing the 1900 Sprint-1951. The 1/43 selection is pretty good though. You mention expensive postage to the U.S. With the exchange rate at the moment a $100Aust listed model will cost around $60US.
