1/64 has "exploded"  in the past few decades. I can't imagine what lies ahead, it's all so very cool! 😎 😎  And to think it all started with this, very 1st Matchbox release in 1953 (in 1/76 scale I believe ).

You are correct. I remember back in the early 1990’s when I started buying 1/64 scale model trains, there were relatively few model cars and some trucks. That improved considerably by the end of the 1990’s. Today the number of high quality 1/64 scale cars and trucks is amazing.
